Handcrafted in Yamagata Prefecture by Tobisho (Tobizuka Shears Works), the A-Type 225mm Yasuki Laminated Steel Edition is an extra-long, high-leverage Japanese bypass pruning shear built for heavy-duty commercial orchard work, arboriculture, and cutting thick branches.

Measuring 225mm in total length with an extended 75mm blade, this large-frame model provides maximum mechanical leverage, allowing professionals to shear through thick, dense limbs with significantly less hand pressure. The cutting edge is crafted from premium Yasuki High-Carbon Steel, fused to a resilient, shock-absorbing soft iron handle base using Tobisho’s signature high-temperature brass brazing technique (Rouzuke). This traditional two-piece laminated construction creates an exceptionally hard blade with razor edge retention (Nagagire), joined to a supple handle body that will not snap under high leverage or lateral twisting.
