Description

Handcrafted by the renowned Tobisho in Yamagata Prefecture, model No. 418 is a specialized 230mm Matsuba (Pine Needle) Trimming Shear engineered specifically for intricate pine pruning and delicate foliage work. Combining age-old Yamagata hand-forging craftsmanship with modern metallurgical quality control, it delivers a sharp, exceptionally responsive cutting feel.

Forged from premium high-carbon cutlery steel, the blades feature an authentic Hollow Ground Back (Urasuki) on the primary cutting edge paired with artisanal "Hinari" (twist and shear alignment) on the receiving edge. This precision geometry prevents pine resin and sap buildup, ensuring that the blades slide seamlessly together to the very tip. Compact and lightweight at 216g, its slender blade profile allows craftsmen to slip effortlessly into tight foliage gaps for razor-sharp, intricate cuts without damaging surrounding needles.
