Description
Handcrafted in Yamagata Prefecture by Abukumagawa Sokan, the Left-Handed B-Type 200mm Edition is a specialized Japanese bypass pruning shear custom-engineered for left-handed professionals and enthusiasts. Built by the pioneer workshop that forged Japan’s very first secateurs in 1870, this shear incorporates over 150 years of master swordsmithing heritage into a dedicated left-handed tool.
Unlike standard shears simply held in the left hand, this model features a true left-handed mirror-image construction. The primary cutting blade, counter-blade, and joint hardware are fully reversed. This allows left-handed operators to view the cut line cleanly without obstruction while applying natural hand leverage that pulls the blades together rather than pushing them apart.
The frame merges the streamlined power of the B-Type with an A-Type hybrid ergonomic grip curve, providing an exceptionally comfortable, hand-conforming hold that reduces fatigue during prolonged orchard work. Forged entirely from High-Grade Japanese Carbon Cutlery Steel, it utilizes Yamagata’s signature 3D concave hollow grinding (Urasuki) and precision crossover alignment (Hinari) to deliver a sharp, effortless "slice-through" feel.
Key Features & Craftsmanship:
True Left-Handed Mirror Design: Purpose-built with fully reversed blades and joint assembly, allowing left-handed users to make clean, precise cuts with clear line-of-sight and natural squeezing leverage.
Pioneer Japanese Heritage: Crafted by Abukumagawa Sokan, the historic workshop credited with creating Japan's first pruning shears in 1870, drawing on centuries of samurai swordsmithing lineage.
A-Type Hybrid Ergonomic Grip: Blends the streamlined power transfer of the B-Type with the gentle, palm-conforming handle curves of the A-Type for superior comfort and control.
Master Yamagata Blade Alignment: Incorporates precision 3D concave hollow grinding (Urasuki) and twisted crossover geometry (Hinari) for smooth opening action and clean branch cuts.
Full Solid Steel Forging: Forged entirely from premium Japanese carbon cutlery steel for high structural rigidity, long-lasting edge retention, and easy whetstone resharpening.
Traditional Bottom Lock: Secured with a classic metal handle latch for reliable, safe storage.Product Specifications
