Description

Handcrafted by the historic Nomuraya Shears Works in Yamagata Prefecture—one of Japan's premier blacksmithing regions—these 200mm A-Type professional pruning secateurs (Model 1088) are a signature choice among professional orchardists, arborists, and landscapers. Individually forged from high-grade Japanese carbon steel, every piece undergoes meticulous hand-shaping and edge-tuning by master craftsmen to deliver a silky, high-torque slicing motion that mass-produced tools simply cannot match.

Featuring an extended 67mm blade measured from the bolt center on a balanced 200mm frame, Model 1088 provides excellent branch-capturing capacity and enhanced leverage for clean, effortless cuts through thicker hardwood. The blades are meticulously adjusted with precision back geometry and hand-tuned crossover alignment, allowing the edges to glide past one another with minimal friction and zero tissue crushing. Crafted to last a lifetime, these heirloom-quality secateurs combine Yamagata’s rich blacksmithing heritage with exceptional field performance. (Note: Due to the razor-sharp, hand-tuned back geometry, never sharpen or grind the back surface of the blades).
