Description

Handcrafted by the historic Nomuraya Shears Works in Yamagata Prefecture—one of Japan's most revered blacksmithing centers—these large-format 225mm A-Type professional pruning secateurs (Model 1089) represent the maximum capacity and power of the Murahisa lineup. Masterfully forged from high-grade Japanese carbon steel, each pair is individually shaped, ground, and tuned by hand to deliver maximum shearing force with a silky, low-friction action.

Boasting a generous 74mm blade length measured from the bolt center and an extended 225mm frame, Model 1089 provides maximum leverage and branch-capturing capacity, allowing arborists, orchardists, and landscapers to slice through thick, heavy limbs with minimal effort. The blades are hand-adjusted for flawless crossover alignment and precise back geometry, preventing plant tissue damage and resisting sap buildup. Built as a heavy-duty, heirloom-quality tool, these secateurs combine traditional Yamagata craftsmanship with unmatched cutting performance. (Note: Due to the razor-sharp, hand-tuned back geometry, never sharpen or grind the back surface of the blades).
