Description

Handcrafted by the historic Nomuraya Shears Works in Yamagata Prefecture—one of Japan's premier blacksmithing hubs—these 180mm A-Type professional pruning secateurs (Model 1087) represent the pinnacle of traditional Japanese hand-finishing. Forged from high-grade carbon steel (Yaguki/carbon tool steel class), each pair undergoes rigorous manual grinding, shaping, and edge alignment by veteran blacksmiths, delivering an extraordinary, smooth-slicing feel that mass-produced tools cannot replicate.

Despite its compact 180mm overall frame, Model 1087 boasts an extended 60mm blade measured from the bolt center. This unique proportion delivers a rare combination of nimble maneuverability in tight foliage and superior branch-capturing capacity. The blades feature a meticulously hand-tuned back profile and crossover angle, producing a silky, frictionless shear without crushing plant tissue. Built as a heirloom-quality tool for professional arborists, orchardists, and master gardeners, these secateurs offer unmatched durability and precision. (Note: Due to the razor-sharp, hand-tuned back geometry, never sharpen or grind the back surface of the blades).
