Description

Crafted under the original Hasamiya Ichiban brand, item NO.1100 is a specialized, traditional masterwork shear engineered specifically for trimming, shaping, and finishing thatched roofs (Kayabuki Roofs) as well as heavy-duty landscaping operations. Completely hand-forged from scratch by skilled blacksmiths, it features an upward-curved blade (Sori-Ba) designed to follow roof contours smooth and slice through tough reed, miscanthus, and thick greenery without snagging.

Forged using premium Yasugi Kishi (Yellow Paper Steel), these 240mm heavy-duty blades deliver a clean, decisive bite with minimal arm strain, while allowing for easy sharpening and long-term edge maintenance. The blades feature a traditional hollow ground back (Urasuki) combined with Twist Blade alignment. Paired with a 450mm Japanese white oak handle (total length 805mm, weight 1520g), this robust build provides powerful leverage, optimal angle control, and historical Japanese forging excellence for professional thatch crafts, master landscapers, and arborists.
