Description

Crafted under the prestigious Hasamiya Ichiban brand, item NO.1169 is a professional Kyo-style (Kyoto-style) gate hedge shear engineered for soft branch pruning, leaf trimming, and fine foliage maintenance. Traditional hand-forged from scratch using Yasugi (Yellow Paper Steel), these blades excel at biting smoothly into wood, offering excellent edge retention and unmatched ease of resharpening to maintain peak performance over time.

Featuring a 90mm wide-shoulder gate design, the wider stance reduces strain on the user’s arms and shoulders during extended work. The 160mm blades (170mm from rivet center) incorporate a traditional hollow ground back (Urasuki) to reduce friction and prevent tree sap adhesion. Built with a solid Rivet Joint structure and paired with a 450mm Japanese white oak handle (total length 700mm) weighing 820g, it delivers exceptional weight balance, smooth handling, and comfortable control. Built to professional standards for landscapers, arborists, and fine greenery specialists.
