Crafted in Ono City, Hyogo Prefecture under the traditional Azumagawa brand, item NO.170 is a professional-grade single-handed hedge shear featuring a Single-Edge (Kataha) design. Hand-forged from scratch using premium Japanese Yasugi high-carbon steel, the lower anvil blade functions similarly to a pruning shear, allowing it to cut slightly thicker branches compared to standard double-edge models.

Featuring a 130mm blade (from bolt center to tip) on a 270mm overall frame, this tool is ideal for hedge shaping and trimming on ladders or in narrow spaces. Designed with a Twist Blade geometry for optimal cutting angles and a traditional Hollow Ground Back (Urasuki) for smooth engagement, this model is built without a guard for flexible hand positioning and quick handling.
