Description

Handcrafted by Azumagawa Horticultural Shear Works in Ono, Hyogo Prefecture—a world-renowned center for traditional Japanese cutlery—these 165mm B-Type pruning secateurs (Model 977) offer exceptional artisan craftsmanship and robust reliability. Precision-forged from high-grade special steel, they undergo Azumagawa’s proprietary "Maru-Yakiire" full-quenching heat treatment, imparting razor-sharp edge retention and high structural resilience within a compact, nimble frame.

Featuring a thick, durable B-type blade geometry, this model handles live branches up to 20mm with surprising cutting power while minimizing the risk of edge chipping. Its compact 165mm length and lightweight (~180g) build fit seamlessly into smaller hands or tight, congested foliage where standard 180mm–200mm tools feel cumbersome. Complete with a secure traditional handle-latch lock (Kanadome), an authentic Hollow Ground Back (Urasuki), and hand-adjusted Hinari alignment for smooth, sap-resistant performance, these secateurs are ideal for intricate pruning, bonsai maintenance, and fatigue-free daily field work.
